How bad is the tech market really? One of my was affected by the layoffs at Google so starting to look for a new job. I keep seeing people saying the tech market is terrible right now. Based in Los Angeles. Open to in-person or remote, not open to relocations With SWE at Google and Amazon on my resume, and an undergrad and masters in CS from a top 25 university, will I still likely have a tough time finding a job in today’s market? I see plenty of job postings in LinkedIn, but I keep seeing posts about how they’re not actually hiring or that it’s really selective, is that true? I’m also ok with my liquid TC going as low as 200k, so I wouldn’t necessarily be looking for exclusive jobs paying 300k+ Updates so far: Talking with a bunch of recruiters, and have 6 interviews scheduled so far, although just the first recruiter calls so we’ll see how that goes.
